Cassie Holt began her musical journey in the Dallas-Fort Worth art scene. As a young singer, she took center stage in coffee shops, her voice resonating deeper than the casual listener might expect. This wasn’t just any performance but the humble beginning of a journey punctuated with dreams of glimmering Grammy awards.

For Cassie, singing isn’t just a hobby — it is her heartbeat. She began by writing hooks for local rap artists and even dabbled in forming a band intended to be a docuseries. Although the project didn’t materialize, Cassie’s relentless spirit kept the musical endeavor alive. For nearly a decade and a half, she stood on stages, nourished by an undeniable passion for artistry, the ineffable joy of creating — making something out of nothing.

However, Cassie soon realized that to evolve, one needs a bigger pond. So, she boldly packed up her life into her Corolla and drove from Dallas to Long Beach, accompanied only by her boyfriend and a burning desire to write songs that matter. The transition wasn’t smooth. Weekend Airbnb renters filled her bedroom, and her boyfriend drove Lyft. But during these moments of hustle, Cassie’s identity expanded from singer to songwriter, immersing herself into the meticulous world of sync licensing.

Reflecting on her journey, Cassie often speaks of the individuals who shaped her artistry. From crafting a track with the acclaimed S1 to commanding the stage before Fantastic Negrito at the House of Blues, she has amassed moments of pure pride. A poignant chapter in her journey was winning the ASCAP Foundation’s “Sunlight of The Spirit” award at Lincoln Center.

Cassie’s journey, however, isn’t all golden tickets and applause. The music industry is a battlefield, fraught with deals that fall through, emails that go unanswered, and songs that get stolen. Cassie’s personal life has not been free of storms either. Robbed at gunpoint at the age of 20, a survivor of brutal physical and sexual assault, these traumas could have broken her, but they also fueled her resolve. Cassie funneled this pain into her writing and work as a trauma therapist, sharing her insights with other creatives who have faced dark chapters.

Today, Cassie continues to carve her own path. She’s more than a singer and songwriter — she’s a mom, wife, and trauma therapist. She’s a mentor and an activist. Music remains a constant, though the tune has changed, taking on layers of experience and shades of empathy. Her voice has matured, but her fire, that inextinguishable blaze, burns brighter than ever. Cassie doesn’t shy away from difficult conversations; she channels them into her art. When she perceives injustice, she gives it a melody and a stage. Her artistry is a blend of vulnerability and activism, making her a beacon for many navigating life’s complexities.

As for the future? Cassie hasn’t given up on her Grammy dreams. While she doesn’t chase fame for its glitter and glamor, she does cherish the goal of being recognized for her art. Her aspirations aren’t about standing in the limelight but crafting melodies that resonate, touch hearts, and perhaps, one day, earn her a nomination at the Grammy Awards.
